Glass partitions in London: prices, landlord consent and getting a price the same day

Glazed partition with an openable divide in a lounge

Quick answer: in London the glass is rarely the hard part. Lift sizes, landlord consent and the building's working-hours rules decide how fast and how expensively a partition goes in. Weldholm publishes its prices (£397/m² Signature, £557/m² Acoustic Premium, materials and fabrication, ex VAT) and prices drawings the same working day, or takes £250 off the job.

What it costs

Most London offices have ceilings around 2.7 m, so a 6 m meeting-room front is about 16.2 m² of partition.

Build-upRate6 m × 2.7 m front
Signature (framed, CE-marked)£397/m²£6,431
Acoustic Premium (up to 50 dB)£557/m²£9,023

Materials and fabrication, ex VAT. Doors, installation and any making good are quoted separately from your floor plan, in the same written quote.

Our UK glass partition cost guide explains why £/m² and £/linear metre quotes look so different for the same wall.

What London buildings ask for

1. Landlord consent. Most office leases need a licence for alterations before you change the layout. The landlord's surveyor will usually ask for drawings, a product spec and fire information. We send drawings and system data with the quote, so you're not waiting on us for the consent pack.

2. The building manager's rules. Multi-tenant buildings usually want RAMS (risk assessments and method statements), proof of insurance and booked loading-bay slots. Noisy work is often limited to evenings or weekends in occupied buildings, which affects install cost, so ask for the rules before you ask for a price.

3. Lift and stair access. Glass panels have to physically get to your floor. Measure the goods lift (door width, car depth and height) before the design is fixed. Tall panels that fit the ceiling may not fit the lift, and that changes the panel layout.

4. Fire strategy. If the partition forms part of an escape route or a protected corridor, it may need a fire rating. Check with your fire engineer early: see FD30 vs EI30 vs EI60 for what the ratings mean.

Who installs

We do. Weldholm supplies the system and our own team installs it, so one company is responsible from the drawing to the finished wall. Installation is priced from your floor plan and site access, in the same written quote as the materials.

How to get a price today

Send the floor plan (PDF or DWG is fine), ceiling height, and which rooms need acoustic or fire performance. We'll price it from your drawings the same working day, or take £250 off the job.
